It was a great lesson, thank-you so much! Shortly
after, I had a second (painful) bout of the shingles, and did not
play again--am just now a little bit back on my feet. Am anxious to
start over and learn how to swing correctly. (I stare at the video
picture all the time...yuck at how off I am) You were great, and
packed an amazing amount of info into such a short time. Still plan
to dump some plants on you in the Spring, but in the meantime,
anxiously await the winter classes at the Dome. Thanks again...a
little belatedly, I know, but still heartfelt. |

Your direct and simple teaching style are very
helpful. Best tip you have given me; When in the rough, use a firm
and smooth swing. This has taken many strokes off my game,
especially this time of year. |

Linda, thanks for helping me at the Girls Golf
Academy. You really improved my game. After you taped me and showed
me what I did wrong, it practically doubled how well I hit the ball!
Now, whenever I go golfing I remember what you told me, and try to
make it right! Thanks again! |

Dear Linda,
You are a great golf coach. I have gone to the
Girl's Golf Academy two years and I have had a lot of fun and learned
a lot. I think that this is a great camp for girls, but I wish it was
for a longer period of time because then I would get to learn more and
have more fun. Thank you so much.

Last summer while running past
Drumlins in the awful heat and humidity, I noticed that the golfers
looked a lot more comfortable than I did, pounding on the hot
pavement. Although I have run past Drumlins on my daily runs for over
twenty (yup, that's right) years, I had never really noticed that
before. So I made a resolution to take golf lessons. I had never even
held a golf club before in my life. So at the "tender" age of 53, I
took my first lesson in April, using borrowed clubs. What I found that
kept me coming back is that when you hit it right, it's a beautiful
thing -- like running a sub-39 minute 10k. And let me tell you, Linda
is someone who helps even the uninitiated like me learn how to hit it
right. In fact, I enjoyed her teaching so much that I took the Town of
Dewitt lessons over again in May. I learned so much more the second
time because Linda had given me a good foundation on which to build,
which she (of course) was able to build upon when I reappeared in her
course as a "sophomore". Linda is an excellent teacher, and I should
know because I, myself, am a history prof at Le Moyne. Moreover, I've
been a dean there and a dept chair, so that means I've evaluated
people's teaching. One of the things that makes Linda so effective is
her love of teaching; which is quite evident from the way she
approaches her classes. All her attention is focused on what her
students are doing and she's always looking for ways to communicate
better to others her expertise in the sport. In sum, I'll be back for
more lessons from Linda, as soon as I've played my first game of golf
and figure out what I need. |

(from the Town of Dewitt Golf
Lessons)
Linda simplifies the swing and takes the mystery out of it. I can
finally hit the ball longer than a 100 yards! |

I can't believe how much i have learned so far. My

the 9th and even had a birdie try on the first. I can't wait for next
week's lesson. I'm gonna kick my man's _____ on the course sooner than

Thanks for a very worthwhile clinic. I learned to
be more creative with my "short" club selection around the greens, not
to be afraid of the sand shot and to understand the concept that
"feel" is a large part of the short game. I certainly have my work cut
out for me. Great clinic!!! |
