EWGA & LSM Golf working together again! The CNY Chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA) recently gave scholarships for three local young girls to attend the LSM
Girls Golf
Academy in July 2007. Pictured left to right are: Annie Basile, Margaret Mooney, and Alana Jones. We commend the EWGA for their generosity in encouraging young ladies to golf.

2007 SWDGA Scholarship Winner is Jillian Fraccola
Jillian is the captain of the Fayetteville Manlius Girl's Golf team.
She recently was the Section 3 champion at Green Lakes Gof Course and
followed that up by winning the State Championship at Foxfire. She
will be attending the University of Richmond on a partial golf
scholarship. She will be graduating from F-M High School . Jillian
will receive $1,250 for her four years in college.
Two Judy McLean Scholarship Winners Announced
Morgan Yoder and Dineen Notman have both been awarded a one-time
$1,000 scholarship. Morgan was the second place finisher at Green
Lakes in the Section 3 championship and has competed on the Liverpool
Golf Team. She plans to attend Rutgers University on a partial golf
scholarship and will be studying engineering. Dineen has
participated on the Solvay Boy's golf team and will be graduating
from Solvay. She plans to attend Penn State on a partial golf
scholarship and would like to become a PGA professional and teach
others the game of golf.
It is interesting to note that all three have been competing in golf
as well as helping teach others the game. All three: Jillian, Dineen,
and Morgan have helped Linda Mulherin at her golf camps and clinics.
They are truly worthy recipients and represent the SWDGA very well. |

Dineen Notman signs for the Penn State Nittany Lions
Solvay High School Senior, Dineen Notman will be attending Penn State University in the fall to play golf for the Nittany Lion's women's team and major in the PGM (Professional Golf Management) program.

Corrin Conroy to play for the Great Danes' NCAA
Division I golf program

Linda has been selected as the 2006 recipient
of the CNY PGA Junior Golf Leader Award
This award confirms that her
work on behalf
of junior golfers is not going un-noticed by her
peers. Her tireless
efforts in making sure PGA professionals are recognized
by junior
golfers, and their parents, as the source for quality
instruction and guidance
is making a difference. Linda accepted the award
a ceremony at the
Turning Stone Resort. Members and staff from Drumlins
and some of Linda's
students attended. |

to be one of America's Top Fifty Teachers.
Golf for Women Magazine
has announced it's
"America's Top Fifty Teachers"
for 2007 and Linda once again received this great honor.
She has reached the pinnacle of the teaching profession and this award
only reinforces her committment to teaching the game of golf. |

Carmody Named Athlete of the Year, a freshman
honor at Longwood University. Mary, majoring
in kinesiology averaged 79.95 with a low 18-hole
score of 75, and a low 36-hole score of 153.

Maggie Lester led her
Penn State team to an 11th place finish in the
Northwestern University Invitational at the Gary
Player Signature Course at the Westin Mission Hills
Resort in Rancho Mirage, California. Maggie
tied for 14th place overall with a three-day,
54-hole total of 220. |

March 19, 2006 |
Maggie Lester, long
time LSM student and Linda's assistant for summer
programs, placed 9th overall in the Anteater
Invitational, scoring a 54-hole total of 239. Maggie
is a junior at Penn State and is now ranked 104th
nationally as a collegiate woman golfer. The
Anteater Invitational was hosted by UC Irvine.

Mary Carmody
Strikes Again! Only a week after her first
collegiate Top 10 finish, Mary tied for third place
in the Shamrock Intercollegiate hosted by Wintrhop
University in South Carolina. She scored a 232
for 54 holes giving her a Top 5 finish as a
freshman.

Mary Carmody,
a long-time LSM Golf student, and first year student
at Longwood University, posted her first top-10 individual
finish in a collegiate tournament. She placed
ninth with a two-day total of 157 in the Butler
North-South Intercollegiate tournament held in
Jacksonville, Florida.

Rose Pirrillo (student) earned the "most improved" award for
ladies 18 hole league at Cazenovia Country Club. She also broke
100 for the first time this year.

July 2003 -- Jennie Cleary,
one of Linda's students from Watertown, NY, recently won the
Watertown Ladies City Golf Championship. She was medalist in
the qualifying round with an 83 at the Watertown Golf Club, and
consequently won matches to advance to the finals where she won
against Georgia Duskas, the 2002 Watertown City champ. Jennie
also placed first earlier this spring, in the Tournament of
Champions, a tournament open to club champions from Jefferson
and Lewis counties, and former Tournament of Champion winners.

Marnie Keck was featured in an
article in the Post Standard (November 26). Marnie, along
with her mom, Sandy, is one of Linda's students through the Town
of Dewitt program. The Keck family belongs to Drumlins East
and Marnie has worked at Drumlin's pool.
