Q: |
Tell us about you. |
| |
A: |
I am 39 years old and I am presently
not working. I resigned from my job this past summer to work on my
golf game and to just enjoy my role as Mrs. Jost. My only family
beside my husband, Don, is our dog, Bailey, a nine year old yellow
Labrador. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
How long have you played golf? |
| |
A: |
I started to play seriously at about
age 28. Each year, I have been playing more and my game is finally
starting to improve at a steady pace. Lessons were the key to
starting me on the path toward improvement. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What made you begin to play golf
and why do you continue to play? |
| |
A: |
My best friend at age eighteen
introduced me to the game, but I stopped playing for several
years. When I began to play with my husband at twenty-eight, we
found that we enjoyed the time on the course and it has become an
integral part of our summer and vacation lifestyle. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
Why do you take lessons? |
| |
A: |
To improve my swing and all of the
various aspects of my game, which results in a greatly increased
enjoyment of the game. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What do you enjoy most about golf? |
| |
A: |
The sight of a well-struck ball and
the satisfying sound of the ball dropping into the cup. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What is the best part
of your game? |
| |
A: |
My tee shots give me the greatest
thrill (and, occasionally, the greatest frustration). |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What is the worst part
of your game? |
|
A: |
Long approach shots from the fairway.
I always call it "The dreaded second shot". |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
Who do you enjoy playing golf with? |
| |
A: |
My husband. I enjoy playing with
anyone who takes the game seriously enough to concentrate on it
throughout the round. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
Why do you take lessons? What are you
trying to improve? |
| |
A: |
My full swing mechanics still give me
some problems. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What's in your golf bag? |
| |
A: |
Square Two woods (1,3,5,7), Spalding
Executive irons, and an Odyssey White-hot Two Ball putter. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What was your most
memorable golf round? |
| |
A: |
I shot my best score on our home
course, Radisson Greens, in July of 2002 while playing with two
strangers I hooked up with on the tenth tee. I had a 42 on the
back nine. There is no doubt that playing with strangers makes it
easier to concentrate on your game. |
| |
|
|
|
|
Q: |
What is your favorite golf hole? |
|
|
A: |
I enjoy Radisson Greens because of the
challenging layout. My favorite holes are the par three's because
of the chance of the elusive ace. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
Q: |
Who is your favorite
golfer? |
|
|
A: |
I like Julie Inkster, Laura Diaz, Anikka
Sorenstam, and Karrie Webb. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What interests do you
have besides golf? |
| |
A: |
Family and friends, health and
fitness, computer, and travel. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
How
long have you worked with Linda? |
| |
A: |
About one full year. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What was your favorite
golf lesson? |
| |
A: |
I gained a tremendous amount from one
of Linda's short game clinics. Before that, I didn't know the rush
attached to chipping it in! |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
Why do you take lessons from Linda? |
| |
A: |
Linda reminds me of a coach I had in
high school. Her teaching abilities are of the highest quality.
She is a true professional yet remains down-to-earth and genuine.
She shows a lot of patience through the rough spots of the
learning process, when the finer points just don't "sink in". I
think Linda cares more about each student's game than the student
does. She "zones in" on the problem areas and finds the route to
an individual solution to the problem. In addition to the basics
of the game, Linda has helped me in my course management through
on-course instruction. I have never left a lesson without feeling
as though I have learned something new. |
