Q: |
Tell us about you. |
| |
A: |
I am Registered Nurse and have a
Master's Degree in Psychological Counseling.I
am now retired after spending my entire professional career, in
various job roles, at Hutchings Psychiatric Center--there was
never a dull moment!
My husband, Kevin Munnett and I live in Syracuse. I have
been a member at Drumlins East Course for five years. |

Q: |
How long have you played golf? |
| |
A: |
I was rather a "late bloomer". I have
played golf on and off over the years, but have been serious about
it for six or seven years. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What made you begin to play golf
and why do you continue to play? |
| |
A: |
Years ago, I was curious about the
game and thought it might be fun. I rather impulsively bought
myself a set of Wilson clubs at Kmart, then shopped around and
found a nice, blue nylon bag. I proudly placed my new clubs in the
bag, which immediately folded like an accordion and collapsed to
the floor. Maybe that was a sign, but I persevered and bought
myself a more substantial bag. I took group lessons several times
and played on leagues at different golf courses. I continue to play
because I enjoy the endless challenge. |

| |
Q: |
Why do you take lessons? |
| |
A: |
I wanted to learn the right way and
decided it was time to make a commitment and give my game the
attention it needed. Lessons help me to set goals and work hard to
improve. Because I can't play as often as I would like, lessons
help me maintain what I have learned. |

| |
Q: |
What do you enjoy most about golf? |
| |
A: |
In addition to meeting nice people, I
like the sound of the ball upon impact when it is hit properly and
experiencing the feel of how easily a good swing can be achieved.
I also like to hear that ball drop into the cup! |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What is the best part
of your game? |
| |
A: |
The best parts of my game are usually
my tee shots and at other times, using my wedges around the green.
I keep searching for consistency! |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What is the worst part
of your game? |
|
A: |
I am never really happy about being in
a bunker or about my shots trying to get out. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
Who do you enjoy playing golf with? |
| |
A: |
I like to play with anyone who is out
to have fun, yet is serious about the rules and etiquette. I enjoy
my league play at Drumlins. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What are you trying to improve with
your lessons? |
| |
A: |
I was
crestfallen about this year's golf season after breaking my arm in
March. The cast has now been replaced with a brace so I can hold
a club, although somewhat awkwardly. Linda is working with me to
keep me focused, keep my spirits up and has shown me how to
compensate for my limitations by modifying my grip. I am
currently working on the club position at the top of the backswing,
with hopes of improving the downswing. |

|
|
| |
Q: |
What's in your golf bag? |
| |
A: |
My woods are Big Bertha War Birds 1,
3, 5, King Cobra 7, and a Nancy Lopez 9. I have Wilson Fat Shaft
irons and a Ping putter. I'm in the market for a titanium driver. |

|
| |
Q: |
What was your most
memorable golf round? |
| |
A: |
I am pleased any time I can get a
birdie on 8th hole and hit the green from the 16th tee at Drumlins
East. |
| |
|
|
|
|
Q: |
What is your favorite golf hole? |
|
|

What interests do you
have besides golf? |
| |
A: |

and exercising at Gold's Gym. |

| |
Q: |
How
long have you worked with Linda? |
| |
A: |
I started taking lessons from Linda
about five years ago. |
| |
|
|
| |
Q: |
What was your favorite
golf lesson? |
| |
A: |
I enjoy the lessons using Linda's
video and software. I can really see what I'm doing and not doing.
It is rewarding to see something I have been working on finally
click--it's like a piece of a puzzle falling into place. |

|
| |
Q: |
Why do you take lessons from Linda? |
| |
A: |
Linda is a gifted and dedicated
teacher and her relaxed style, patience and expertise are
inspiring. She has the ability to meet me wherever I am, whether
it is a day of setbacks or a day of progress. When working on a
problem, she has many solutions to try until I find one that
works. Linda's lessons are fun and hard work. Make no mistake, she
sees and hears everything!! She has
helped me achieve things that I never dreamed I could accomplish.
I always come away from a lesson with a sense of satisfaction and
with something to keep working on at the range. |
