An Interview with
Steve Zajac

April 2004 Student of the Month

Read Steve's answers to our interview questions:

  Q: Tell us about you.
  A: I am 38, married for 15 yrs, wife Kimberly, 2 kids (Gemini 5 and Shade 10). I work in sports television as a camera op.
 
  Q: How long have you played golf?
  A: 24 years
     
  Q: What made you begin to play golf and why do you continue to play?
  A: My father, mother and older brother played so I thought It was part of what you did growing up.
     
  Q: Why do you take lessons?
  A: You can self make a swing but you also go down so many wrong paths.
     
  Q: What do you enjoy most about golf?
  A: Being outside and always having something to compete against even if you're playing alone. You are alway playing the course, mother nature and
yourself.
 
  Q: What is the best part of your game?
  A: My tee ball.
 
  Q: What is the worst part of your game?
A: My approach shots.
     
  Q: Who do you enjoy playing golf with?
  A: My Father, brother and Uncle
 
  Q: What are you trying to improve with your lessons?
  A: Everything, however I am working hardest on Short game and a consistent flight path.
     
  Q: What's in your golf bag?
  A: All Titleist, 983 driver Pro trajectory 3 wood, 1 I ,3-pw Dci 981 55,and 60 degree sand and lob wedges, white hot putter heel toe weighted.
     
  Q: What was your most memorable golf round?
  A: For purely scoring my best round was a 2 over par at Silver creek. I played consistently through the whole round. I often go from birdie or eagle to bogey or maybe a double.  Never just routine pars.
     
  Q: What is your favorite golf course?
A: Bonavista it is where I learned to play.
   
  Q: Who is your favorite golfer?
  A:  Jack Nicklaus
     
  Q: What interests do you have besides golf?
  A: My family, music. (I have played guitar for 26 years.) and movies.
     
  Q:  How long have you worked with Linda?
  A: 6 Months
     
  Q: What was your favorite golf lesson?
  A: My first lesson. She did such a good evaluation of my swing and listened to my thoughts and concerns. She went through what was already good and what needed to be changed. It is obvious Linda is dedicated completely to teaching and enjoys it.
     
  Q: Why do you take lessons from Linda?
  A: She has given me a much better understanding of my swing and where it needs to go to become as consistent as I would like.
