You can never become a good golfer with a bad grip!

Here are three steps to improving your grip:

1

With your left hand:  your club hooks underneath the heal pad of your hand, putting the meaty part of your hand on top of the club.  this creates leverage for the club, and when done properly, you will be able to hold it with your index finger and thumb removed.

2

Your right hand holds the club in your fingers, laying diagonally across your fingers towards the first joint of your fingers.

3

Cover your left thumb with your right hand.  The right hand's job is to hold the left thumb.  When done properly you will see two Vs pointing towards your right ear. (see the yellow arrows)

This alignment allows the hands to work as a team to square up the clubface, the most significant factor for successful contact of the ball.

The right index finger is in a trigger position which will create space between right index and middle fingers.  This spacing creates good grip pressure and allows the finger to act as a guide in the backswing.

You are now on your way to better golf!
